Hey Beautiful Blog Readers! How are you today? I’m wonderful and really looking forward to the weekend. A girlfriend of mine is opening a tea room soon called Rosie B and I’m designing some jewelry for her to sell in the shop.
They are going to be introducing themselves at a craft fair on Saturday and some of my pieces will be on display! 🙂 I’m so excited! I’ll share some of them with you tomorrow.
Many of you know that I’ve been playing around with blog design. I’m definitely no expert, but I’m loving how my friend’s blogs are turning out. Here is my latest design that I did for another expat friend who is currently located in Kuala Lumpur.
She loves fall colors: browns, greens, and oranges and really wanted the blog to have an Asian feel. Here is the header I created:
Head over to Making It In KL to view the full design. I’m really proud of it. I love all the little touches that make it personal…the silhouette of Kuala Lumpur in the header and her sweet kiddos in a paper lantern. 🙂
What would you think of a blog design giveaway? Would that be something you are interested in? Even if you have a blog design that you love, maybe you could turn it into a giveaway on your blog…just a thought…now what are yours? 🙂
Instructions for Making Custom Jewelry for a Tea Room
- Tulle
- Poly Satin Circles
- Clip-On Earring Bases
- Decorative Elements (e.g., beads, sequins)
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
Steps:
Prepare the Tulle:
Cut the tulle to your desired sizes for layering. Ensure you have enough fabric to create the look you want.
Create the Volume:
Gather the tulle into soft ruffles or layers, using a thread to secure the bunches if necessary.
Prepare the Poly Satin Circles:
Cut the poly satin into circles that complement the tulle layers. These will serve as the base for your jewelry pieces.
Layer the Components:
Start layering the tulle and poly satin circles together, arranging them in a way that enhances the overall design.
Additional Personalization:
Add beads or sequins to the layers for a touch of sparkle and uniqueness.
Attach the Clip-On Earring:
Using a hot glue gun, securely attach the layered components to the clip-on earring bases. Make sure everything is steady before moving on.
Prepare the Shoes:
Ensure your shoes are clean and ready to showcase your new custom jewelry, considering how they will coordinate together.
Make Additional Pairs:
Encourage making different styles or colors to have a collection of beautiful custom pieces.
